Welcome to my blog Hanging with Hammock.
I have never been a fan of talking about myself but for the sake of informing you the reader I will do my best.
First and foremost I want to make it clear that I am just an average Joe just the same as you. I am a blue-collar worker, devoted husband, loving father of four, and grandfather of two. I am and always have been a passionate follower of sports. Now when I say sports I am referring to high school, college, and of course professional as well.
A few years ago I started this blog as a hobby and to try and put a positive spin on the sports scene because I felt that too many times the news you would hear would be negative in context. With the Coronavirus shutting down all things related to sports I feel there is a great need for fans like me to have something to talk and read about so I am starting to write again.
Too many times the focus is on the negative. Whether it is domestic violence, failed drug test, or something related to the Patriots so I am going to try and avoid stories of that manner.
Many of you know one of my biggest passions is the annual Hoops for Hope game at Jefferson High School in which we raise money for two families in the district that are going through a tough time due to illness or some other hardship. So if you have an event at a school and help a family or a school let me know, I would love to hear about it.If a school has a cancer awareness game to benefit those in need then I want to hear about it. If the Cardinals win the World Series or if the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup I want to celebrate it.
I also want to confess one thing. I attend many high school events each year. Most, but not all will involve a team from Jefferson High School. I have four kids, two of which graduated from Jefferson and one who is still a student there. If it seems that there is more stories about the Jefferson Bluejays well it is because it is true. I have also been a part of Herculaneum High School for nearly 40 years either as a student or long time employee so there will definitely be mentions of the black and red. However, I want to include all county schools and I will work hard to do so. But I need your help. Feel free to email me and fill me in on the happenings with your school's athletics and I will look to provide coverage the best I can.
Make sure to click all the pages and get familiar with my site. This is new to me and it will be a work in progress but I think it is something we can have fun with.
if you want to contact me feel free to do so at [email protected]. I would love to hear from you.
